Getting started with the VPS (for partners)

Licensing the VPS

Should you have problems with the licensing, please check the following:

Partner Licenses:

1. Do you have an up to date “Demo/Dev” License?

Please check that your license(s) have been updated since you have become an official NETRONIC Reseller. (After NETRONIC has added you to their PartnerSource Business Center as an official reseller of the NETRONIC products) This ensures that your company has been given the proper permissions. In order for these permissions to be included in your license files, this needs to be completed after being added to NETRONIC’s PartnerSource Business Center. Help on creating and obtaining appropriate licenses can be found via the following links:

2. Does the existing license need to be updated?

If changes to the permission of the Dynamics NAV objects of the Visual Scheduling Suite have been made, the partner licenses must then be updated in order to obtain these new permissions.

The last recorded changes made to these permissions can be found in the download page (found in the NETRONIC Reseller section) of the NETRONIC Partner Portal.

3. Are you really using a “Demo/Dev” license?

After being added as a NETRONIC authorized reseller to the Microsoft PartnerSource Business Center, the permissions to use the add-ins will then only be assigned to the Demo/Dev licenses by Microsoft.

4. Is my license already active?

You can check current in-use license by:

Within the Development Environment of NAV, in the “Tools” menu, navigate to “License Information”.

In the Role Tailored Client of NAV navigate to the upper left hand corner to “Help” -> and select

“About Microsoft Dynamics NAV.” From this page click on “View your license information.”  Check in both environments if the correct licenses are present and up to date.

End Customer Licenses:

1. Have the modules been assigned to the end customer?

In order to have the correct permissions contained in the end user license, the partner must assign the appropriate modules to the end customer.

For help making these assignments see the following link:

https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/global/pricing-ordering/MSDNAVISVaddonVoice

Using this link you can download the „VOICE Add-On Self Service Partner Guide.” The process is explained in chapter 5.

2. Have the correct modules been assigned?

The Visual Scheduling Suite consists of the following modules:

Module ID --- Module name

42463 --- 5415910 Visual Scheduling Foundation

42464 --- 5415920 Visual Production Scheduler

42465 --- 5415930 Visual Job Scheduler

42466 --- 5415940 Visual Service Scheduler

Select the above modules that have been purchased for use.

Note: The “Visual Scheduling Foundation” module is always necessary for implementation and must always be selected regardless of the other modules being selected.

3. Does the existing license then ever need to be updated?

Should changes to the permissions of the Dynamics NAV objects of the Visual Scheduling Suite be made, the end user licenses must then be updated in order to obtain the new permissions.

The last recorded changes made to these permissions can be found in the download page (found in the NETRONIC Reseller section) of the NETRONIC Partner Portal.
